Nothing is working and I am not sure where to look next. What solved it was taking the save file going back on PkHex and re-exporting it, then I imported this 'new save. Then I tried to re-import the save file and reboot the DS. To try to fix it i originally turned it off and turned it back on. All save files will open in PKHex and do contain the correct data. when I imported the save file to the game it Corrupted it.

The islands are teeming with Pokémon, including some Alolan variants of familiar Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Kanto region. Update (): Kotaku reports that the glitch is a known issue with a save-editing tool known as PKHeX, and was already patched on November 18th. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon have been powered up with new additions to the story and features of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.The games take place in the Alola region, which is made up of four islands, along with one artificial island. But as a heads up, for now, it looks like you shouldn't save in the post-game Battle Tree location or pretty much any Pokémon Center in the game, according to Polygon.
