Just as you had forsaken your humanity three hundred years ago, so you had forsaken Hellsing of your own free will. The werecat looked deeply into your eyes and reflected silently on the long year which had brought the two of you closer than any lovers could possibly hope for. “Then don’t go!” you cried, purple tears dripping down your cheeks and staining Schrodinger’s uniform, “Don’t abandon me, please…” Mein life is not worth living if I cannot have you in it.“

I need you so much I can’t stand it… You are my everything, you’re all I have left in this world.” “I have to complete zis purpose I was given.” He insisted, “If not, what did ze Major fight for? What did Herr Doktor work so hard to accomplish? Why were first Lieutenant Zorin and Rip van Winkle sacrificed if not to achieve this moment? I have to do zis my liebe, it is was I was made for.” “I have to go…” Schrodinger replied, yet there wasn’t as strong of a conviction in his voice as there had been before, and he held you tighter in his arms as he spoke again. He could feel the silver dagger which he carried in his pocket burn through his clothing and sting his pale flesh, and for one brief instant he flirted with the idea of staying with you in your arms. Just thinking about it made Schrodinger shiver with anticipation. When he stood at the tallest spire of London to poison the blood of the No Life King he knew that before the dagger met his jugular, he would recall your smell carried from far away on the breeze of the night. He would recall your scent when the hour of his death came. Death had become his lover, the musk she carried with her into the afterlife haunted his dreams until he felt he would go mad. It was the smell of a vampire, his vampire. The werecat could do nothing to reassure you except hold you closer to his body, inhaling the sickly sweet smell of death which permeated your flesh and clothes. But it was too late for all that now, and Schrodinger wondered if he hadn’t made a mistake in saying goodbye to you before he carried out the last mission he would ever be assigned. Was it a good thing that you had finally fallen in love with him just as strongly as he had first fallen for you? His wish had come true after all, young as you both were a relationship as real as that of any adult had bonded you both within Millennium. It didn’t seem as though you were going to let him go anytime soon. Schrodinger smiled wearily as you tightened your grip on his body. This one was also a response to the other Schrodinger x Reader I did called “Paper Snowflake”. I was so stressed out and always crying, so Hellsing kind of became my crutch for the entire semester. Another one of my best works that was written after my finals during my first year at a 4 year college.
